Duyên dáng và lịch sự 

Nói một cách đơn giản thì duyên dáng và lịch sự là điều cốt lõi hỗ trợ trẻ làm quen với các chuẩn mực của xã hội hiện đại. Là một trường mầm non được áp dụng chuẩn phương pháp giáo dục Montessori, chúng tôi hiểu sâu sắc rằng ngay từ khi còn rất nhỏ, các bé cũng đã có khả năng làm được nhiều hơn những điều mà chúng ta, bố mẹ và thầy cô mong đợi. Tại Trường mầm non River House, trẻ em có thể tham gia làm quen với các hoạt động kỹ năng xã hội như một phần của việc rèn luyện “kỹ năng sống”, điều mà sẽ đi cùng trẻ đến suốt đời. Các bé sẽ được học rằng những điều nhỏ nhoi như nói “làm ơn” và “cảm ơn”, cách để dừng một cuộc trò chuyện một cách lịch sự, nhờ hỗ trợ thay vì ra lệnh hay cách chào mừng thật nồng nhiệt,.. cũng là những điều rất quan trọng.



Những giấc ngủ ngắn

Tại Trường mầm non River House, chúng tôi hiểu rằng thời gian ngủ ngắn hay ngủ trưa là một phần quan trọng trong ngày và cũng là một kỹ năng sống thực tế cần thiết cho trẻ trong tương lai. Nó cho phép trẻ có thời gian để nạp năng lượng và nghỉ ngơi sau khi tham gia nhiều hoạt động trong ngày. Đồng thời, khoảng thời gian nghỉ ngơi này cũng giúp trẻ không bị quá mệt mỏi.

Đương nhiên, các bé không bị ép phải đi ngủ, thay vì thế, chúng tôi sẽ chỉ giúp các bé tạo ra một không gian yên tĩnh và thoải mái để nghỉ ngơi. Bé có thể ngủ nếu bé muốn. Sau khi thức dậy hay cảm thấy đã nghỉ ngơi đủ, chúng hoàn toàn có thể tự do lựa chọn các hoạt động yên tĩnh để không làm phiền những bạn khác đang nghỉ ngơi.

Cách vệ sinh cá nhân 

Điều khiến việc học vệ sinh cá nhân theo phương pháp giáo dục Montessori khác biệt ở chỗ là nó theo sát sự phát triển của trẻ nhưng vẫn tôn trọng quyền riêng tư của bé. Các giáo viên được đào tạo bài bản theo chuẩn phương pháp giáo dục của Montessori có thể dễ dàng nhận ra các dấu hiệu sẵn sàng đi vệ sinh mà hầu hết trẻ em thể hiện ra. Từ đó có thể hỗ trợ trẻ theo từng bước trước và sau khi nhận thấy bé bắt đầu có những dấu hiệu này. Các bé được khuyến khích tự làm những hoạt động này cho đến khi bé hoàn toàn có thể làm được. Và điều này cũng dựa trên tiến trình phát triển của mỗi bé.
